Surface Finish: Plates are either coated or subjected to shot blasting and painting.
Delivery Condition: Plates are available in both hot-rolled and cold-rolled states.
Steel Grades: Available in Grade A, Grade B, and Grade C
The ASTM A662 specification encompasses three grades: A, B, and C, representing carbon-manganese-silicon steel plates designed primarily for use in welded pressure vessels where enhanced low-temperature notch toughness is crucial. These plates are predominantly utilized in the fabrication of pressure vessels operating at middle or low temperatures.
As a type of low-alloy steel, the primary distinction in chemical composition among the three steel grades lies in the manganese (Mn) element. An increase in Mn content in the steel plate contributes to improved yield and tensile strength characteristics.
