ASTM A192 addresses seamless carbon steel boiler and heat exchanger tubes for high-pressure service, sharing mechanical properties akin to ASTM A179 but lower than ASTM A210. Throughout production, essential mechanical tests, including flattening, flaring, hardness, and hydrostatic tests, are diligently conducted. Hot-finished tubes do not require additional heat treatment, while cold-finished tubes undergo heat treatment after the final cold-finishing at a temperature of 1200°F [650°C] or higher.
